After working in-house at fast growing B2B tech companies (Marketo, Jive, Agari), Crissy and Charlie Saunders were frustrated by the lack of expertise found in traditional marketing operations agencies. They also saw firsthand just how difficult it is for companies to build out a MOps function in-house.
So in 2015, Charlie and Crissy set out to create a new type of agency based on 4 core key principles:
1. MOps should be an elevated function for B2B SaaS companies that has a seat at the table and is a key player in defining the marketing strategy.
2. A MOps agency should be filled with the most talented MOps people in the industry and not just project/account managers that get in the way (MOps is too complicated for non-MOps people to lead a project).
3. The CS2 culture should be focused on work life balance, protecting the team from burnout that MOps people often experience.
4. Every member of CS2 should be learning faster than they ever have in their career, to help them grow and so CS2 clients always have access to the best and brightest.
